How will I learn?
Develop your communication, team work, discussion and leadership skills through our varied teaching methods, which include discussion-based lectures, practical sessions, seminars and placements.
You'll develop an impressive range of practical and academic skills that prepare you for further study or a career in education, whether you want to become a teacher, or work more broadly in the sector. How you will learn and the experiences you gain will help prepare you for a wide range of industries and careers.
You will be taught by a diverse and incredibly experienced community of academics, and benefit from the breadth of their expertise and understanding of educating and influencing policy.
¶¶Òõ-based teaching is through a series of lectures, practical seminars and workshops, where interactive and discussion-based techniques will encourage you to engage, reflect and challenge.
Teaching and learning may include:
- participating in workshop-style sessions with your peers
- attending presentations by subject experts
- working on tasks in groups
- having individual tutorials
- visits to schools or other education settings
- visits to theatres, museums, galleries or sites of educational interest.
Placements
Placements are a fundamental part of our undergraduate courses and are especially key to our Primary Education courses where you will spend over 130 days in school across the three years. Placements and careers experience are also embedded in our Education Studies and Education and Psychology courses. Our Children's Development and Learning courses are vocational and you will already be working in an education setting working with children anywhere from aged 0-18.
