Investments

The ¶¶Òõ of Reading announced in April 2016 that it would publish the valuation and accounting statements for its main endowment fund.

This gives a detailed breakdown of investments held at the end of the ¶¶Òõ's financial year on 31 July.

In 2020 the ¶¶Òõ changed its investment manager to Cazenove Capital. As part of the transition the ¶¶Òõ divested itself of any remaining fossil fuel investments. The current exclusions and tolerances agreed by the Investments Committee and applied by the investment manager cover weaponry and armaments, pornography, tobacco, gambling, high interest rate lending, alcohol, oil and gas (extraction, production and refining), tar sands and thermal coal, and non-medicinal animal testing. 

In June 2024 the ¶¶Òõ also excluded the largest funders of fossil fuel extraction.  A statement from Cazenove Capital confirming our fossil fuel free status
